The issue. For over 15 years, 50 percent of law school graduates have been women, and yet women comprise only 18 percent of the equity partnerships at AmLaw 200 firms. This meager 2 percent increase from the number of female equity partners in 2006 — which could, with a bad few years, just as easily be reversed — reinforces the existence of a proverbial leak in the pipeline. Yet as globalization and technology build the thunderclouds of disruption over our heads, the corporate legal profession resists meaningful reflection and change.
